Industrial Epoxy Floor Application Process
Surface Preparation
To ensure proper adhesion of the epoxy coating, we thoroughly clean the concrete surface using laser cleaning (i.e. laser blasting) to remove dirt, oil, grease, and any existing coatings.
Concrete Repair
We repair any cracks, holes, or damaged areas in the concrete to prepare the surface for a smooth epoxy application.
Moisture Testing
Excess moisture can affect the adhesion and performance of the epoxy coating, so we check for moisture in the concrete and apply a moisture barrier, if necessary.
Primer Application
We apply an epoxy primer to the prepared surface to help seal the concrete and provide a strong base for the subsequent epoxy layers.
Epoxy Coating Application
Once the primer has cured, we apply the epoxy coating to meet the desired thickness and performance requirements.
Optional Additives
Depending on the project requirements, we’ll add anti-slip materials, decorative flakes, or color pigments to enhance safety, aesthetics, or functionality.
Topcoat Application
Next, we apply a topcoat to seal the surface and protect it from wear, chemicals, and UV exposure.
Curing and Inspection
The curing period can vary depending on the specific epoxy product used and environmental conditions. Once cured, the floor is inspected to ensure it meets quality standards and is ready for use.
